Dr Yeo Chor Tzien

Dr Yeo Chor Tzien is a Consultant Pulmologist and Physician at the Gleneagles Medical Centre. He is a full member of the Academy of Medicine since 1990 and had been on the Academy of Medicine’s Roll of Specialists for Respiratory Medicine since 1993.

Dr Yeo returned from London to Singapore in 1991, and served as Consultant (Respiratory Medicine) at the Singapore General Hospital right till he left for Private Practice in 1993. He played a major role in setting up the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the Singapore General Hospital, training Postgraduate Doctors in the field of Respiratory Medicine.

Dr Yeo sits on the Committee of Postgraduate Training and Education at the Singapore General Hospital from 1991 to 1993. He was also Advance Training Supervisor in Respiratory Medicine, Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1992 and 1993.

Dr Yeo also started SGH Asthma Clinic and Education Centre (ACEC) in 1993, and served as the Consultant In Charge from 1993 to 1994.

He was also Founder Member of Asthma Association (Singapore) in 1993, and served actively in the association for 10 years. During this period, he had been President of the association in the years 1994/95; 1999/2000 and 2000/2001.

Besides the Asthma Association, Dr Yeo is also an active member of the Singapore Thoracic Society since 1988. He sits on the Organizing Committee on Seminar on Bronchial Asthma by the Singapore Thoracic Society in 1989. He also sits on the Organizing Committee for the Third Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology in 1993, when the event was hosted in Singapore.

Dr Yeo was a Steering Committee Member of ARIAP (Asthma Reality & Insights in Asia Pacific) Study. This is a major study of asthmatic trends in the Asia Pacific Region, and many papers from this study had been published in various International Journals in Respiratory Medicine.

Dr Yeo specializes in Airway Diseases and Lung Function Studies. He is particularly well known for the condition of Bronchial Asthma. He had published numerous articles, research studies and reports in peer-reviewed journals, and had lectured widely on the subject of Pulmonology and Airway Diseases at both local and at international conferences/seminars.
